Resilient Monterey County

The Resilient Monterey County Dashboard explores how long-term trends in climate patterns can affect health outcomes and community member wellbeing; empowering decision-makers, county staff, and the general public's ability to understand their community's strengths and vulnerabilities and how they evolve over time.

This dashboard tracks measurements of a community’s strengths over time— such as school connectedness or educational attainment, and vulnerabilities— such as housing affordability or self-reported health. Identifying community strengths and vulnerabilities provides the foundation for effective solutions. Qualities that strengthen the community support the response to challenges posed by a changing climate such as fires, drought, long-term economic downturns, or other community stressors. Vulnerabilities provide an opportunity for the creation of maximally effective interventions.

The Resilient Monterey County Dashboard was created as a part of the Monterey County Community Resilience Plan, a collaborative project by the Monterey County Office of Emergency Services (OES), The Monterey County Health Department to complement Monterey County's Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan and Climate Action Plan and MCHD's Health in All Policies.
